Cookie Policy

Last updated: Applies to lxera.com

This policy explains what lxera.com stores on your device, and what it does not. The short version: browsing this website places no cookies at all.

Section 1Introduction

Lxera publishes this website at lxera.com to describe our learning management platform. This policy covers that website. It also explains, in section 5, what changes once you create an account and start using the platform itself, because that is a different service with different requirements.

We keep this policy specific rather than generic. Where a section says we do not do something, we mean it about this website as it stands on the date above — not as a general intention.

Section 2What cookies are

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store and send back on your next visit. Websites use them to keep you signed in, to remember a preference, or to recognise you across visits and across other sites.

The same applies to the other ways a site can keep data in your browser — local storage, session storage, and similar mechanisms. Where this policy says "cookies" it means all of them, because what matters is that something is being kept on your device, not which technique keeps it there.

Section 3Cookies this website uses

None. Browsing lxera.com sets no cookies, writes nothing to local or session storage, and leaves nothing on your device that identifies you or your visit.

That is why you have not been asked to accept anything. Consent banners exist to obtain permission for storage that is not strictly necessary; this website has none to ask about, so it does not interrupt you to ask.

Two consequences worth stating plainly, since a policy that only lists reassurances is not much use:

  • We cannot tell whether you have visited before, and nothing you do here follows you to another website.
  • There is no preference for us to remember between visits, which is why the site has no settings to save.

Section 4Measuring traffic without cookies

We do want to know which pages people find useful. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for that, which is built to work without cookies: it records that a page was viewed, along with general technical details such as the type of device and the country the request came from, and it does not store an identifier on your device or build a profile of you.

Because nothing is stored on your device, this measurement cannot connect one visit to another, and cannot connect your visit here to your activity on any other website.

Hosting and security

Cloudflare also serves this website and protects it from attack. Handling a request means processing the connection it arrives on, including your IP address; that is a necessary part of delivering any website and is not something stored on your device.

Section 5When you sign in to the platform

Creating or using an Lxera platform happens on a separate address — my.lxera.com — and that service does need cookies. It sets a session cookie when you sign in, so that each page you request knows it is still you.

These are strictly necessary cookies in the ordinary sense: without them signing in cannot work at all. They are not used for advertising, and not used to track you across other websites. They are set only after you sign in, never from browsing the public site.

Each academy built on Lxera runs on its own address, and is operated by the institution that owns it. When you use one of those, the cookie practices of that academy apply.

Section 6Advertising and third-party tracking

This website carries no advertising cookies, no marketing pixels, no social media tracking, and no embedded content that would place them. Web fonts are served from this website rather than from a third party, so displaying a page does not announce your visit to anyone else.

Section 7Controlling cookies in your browser

Since this website sets no cookies, there is nothing here to clear. If you want to review or remove cookies from other sites, every major browser lets you do so from its own settings, usually under a heading such as Privacy, Cookies, or Site data. There you can inspect what has been stored, delete it, block cookies for specific sites, or block them generally.

Blocking cookies for my.lxera.com will prevent signing in to the platform, since the session cookie described in section 5 is what keeps you signed in from one page to the next.

Section 8Your rights

Where data protection law gives you rights over personal data we hold — access to it, correction of it, deletion of it, objection to how it is used, or the withdrawal of consent you previously gave — those rights apply, and you can exercise them by contacting us. Our Privacy Policy sets out what we collect and why in full.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you may complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Section 9Changes to this policy

If we add anything to this website that stores data on your device, this policy changes before that goes live, and the date at the top changes with it. A cookie policy is only worth reading if it describes the site you are actually on.

Section 10Contact

Questions about this policy, or about anything else on this site, are welcome through our contact form. It reaches the team directly.
